Worktrade at Impact Hub Baltimore

We build our community by meeting people where they are and providing memberships based on personal goals and expectations. If you’d like to join our community but are worried about costs, we’ve got you covered. One great way to become a part of the Impact Hub community is through one of our worktrade programs. For both the Community Lead and Event Lead positions, you dedicate a few hours each week in exchange for Grow membership in our space. You can learn more about each option below. Interested? Community Leads play an important role in day to day community building effort that makes Impact Hub successful and impactful over time. You help to maintain the space and create the conditions for people to work and collaborate on important projects for improving the city. A functional, reliable space forms the foundation for all of our members and guests to do their best work. Community Leads play an integral part of building and connecting an inspiring community every day.

Community Leads commit 8 hours per week for 6 months and report to the Community Manager. In exchange, you receive a Grow Membership and all of its associated benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Welcoming members and guests
  • Maintaining a clean, reliable workspace
  • Growing and connecting an inspiring membership community
  • Brewing coffee, sorting mail, stocking supplies
  • Giving tours and fielding questions
  • Troubleshooting (as needed)

Event Leads help activate Impact Hub Baltimore with events and meetings. They play an important role in ensuring that Impact Hub serves as a reliable, accessible event space for the entire Baltimore community. Through this role, Event Leads provide hands on assistance to community partners and clients, learn best practices for running events, and receive support to plan and execute their own events.

Event Leads commit to supporting 4 events per month for 6 months and report to the Events & Communications Manager. In exchange, you receive a Grow Membership and all of its associated benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct orientations with event booking clients
  • Complete walkthroughs before and after events
  • Set-up and manage A/V equipment
  • Provide excellent experience for event booking clients and guests
  • Support clients as needed with check-ins, set-up, and clean-up
  • Assure clients respect schedule, systems, and space

Impact Hub recruits Event Leads on a rolling basis. Placements in our Worktrade program depend on our current needs and an interview with applicants to assure a strong fit with our community, as well as your professional goals.

Based on your availability, you will be assigned support weekly public events during daytime operating hours (Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm) or during evenings and weekends when the space is otherwise un-hosted.
